We are really pleased to announce that, after much soul searching my brother, Michael, and I have decided to take part in Shitbox Rally Winter 2025! Shitbox Rally is an extremely worthy cause, being the largest community led fundraiser for the Cancer Council in Australia and having raised nearly $50 million since it's inception in 2009! Through the generous support of our family and friends, the 2021 and 2023 events saw us contribute nearly $32,000 towards rally totals of nearly $6million. In June 2025, 250 teams will drive cars worth less than $1500 from Perth to Darwin via some of Australia's toughest roads. To participate as a team we need to achieve a minimum 2025 fundraising target of $5000 but are going for $6000 to make a combined 2021/23/25 total of $38,000. All funds raised go to the Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity.
The inspiration for our participation is our late cousin David Gritching. Sadly, David lost his long battle with cancer in 2017 at the age of 53. Regrettably, cancer has also taken the lives of our mother & uncle, and a good mate of Michael's and tragically a nephew of Michael's at just 13 years old who lost his battle with Leukaemia. So, with that background we are very motivated to maximise our fundraising for this very worthy cause. As well as getting the car ready and to the starting line in Perth, which will be a feat in itself, we’re looking for your generous support to help us get to this lofty $38,000 target.

Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,500, on a 7 day drive across Australia to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
